Hello Everyone! 

I am Emily DeOliveira, but I go by Miss DeO! This will be my first year teaching at Catasauqua Middle School, I am the new Wellness and Fitness Teacher. I have been teaching for 6 year in the Lehigh Valley and in Philadelphia. I now live in Allentown with my boyfriend Kane, my cat Rogue, and my two huksies Kane and Gambit. I graduted from DeSales University with a Sports and Exercise Science  degree, and I am currently working on my Masters Degree from Eastern University. I am also the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Muhlenberg College. 

I am very excited to start the school year and get to know all of my students. I am looking forward to teaching them the importance of health and fitness. They will be learning the following: 

Wellness (T/Th)

• Nutrition, Tobacco, Alcohol, drugs, Peer Pressure, Managing Emotions, Resolving conflicts, Media Influences, Communication Skills, Healthy Relationships, Confidence, Self Image

Fitness (M/W/F)

• Team Sports: Soccer, Handball, Basketball, Ultimate Football, Sports Skills, Kicking/Passing, Throwing/Catching, Movement, Fitness, Striking, Yoga

I am very passionate and I hope I can pass that along to the students and get them excited about health and gym.
