High School Level Gifted Services
Grade 9-12 gifted services are based in small group space in the Catasauqua High School. Students receive services individually or in groups according to their need or as indicated by the GIEP. Typical gifted students in grades 9-12 meet an average of 1 Mod per cycle during semesters when they are participating in pull-out sessions. High school gifted students also have access to "doubling up" of courses, acceleration of courses, and independent study, when appropriate and indicated by the GIEP.
Enrichment curriculum for gifted students is student driven and focuses on subjects such as philosophy, vocabulary development, self-knowledge, college/career choices, SAT prep, higher-level thinking/creative thinking and student interest projects.
