Elementary Level Gifted Services
K-4 gifted services are delivered at the Sheckler Elementary building and may included enrichment pull-out, acceleration, one-on-one instruction, and independent study as indicated by the student's GIEP. Students may be scheduled for pull-out enrichment services in groups of 20 or less as appropriate to their grade, developmental levels, and/or area of strength. The gifted support teacher assists classroom teachers with materials and information related to student strengths and weaknesses, goals and specially designed instruction as indicated in the GIEP.
Curriculum for the enrichment program is process oriented and focuses on PA Core Standards through the lens of higher level thinking skills, creative problem solving and other problem solving strategies, leadership, self-knowledge, independent study and research skills and other skills as indicated by individual need and the GIEP.
