Immunization

  • Students are required to show proof of immuniztion in order to remain in the public school setting.  Minimum requirements include 4 doses of diptheria, pertussis & tetanus, 3 doses of polio, 2 doses of measles, mumps, ruebella, 3 doses of Hepatitis B, and 2 doses of varicella.

    Thee Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has recently upgraded immunization requirements for all students. TWO doses of varicella immunization are required for all students.  Additionally, a Tdap and Meningitis vaccines are required for all students in 7th grade.

       

     

    Changes to the immunization regulations of Pennsylvania were impemented beginning with the the 2017-2018 school term.  These changes include the addition of a second dose of Meningitis vaccine for students in 12th grade as well as shortening of the grace periods for non-compliant students from the current 8 months to 5 days.  Students whose immunizations are not in compliance with the state immunization law will not be permitted to attend school until they are in compliance.  For current students, the deadline for compliance is the first day of school of the new school term with the grace period ending on the 5th day of school.  Please consult your child's doctor or the school nurse if you anticipate that your child will be out of compliance.

     

    The school nurse will notify students and parents/guardians when immunizations are non-compliant.  Additionally, the school nurse will notify students and parents/guardians whose immunizations are anticipated to be non-compliant for the next school year.
