Summer Learning Opportunities - Supercharge your Math and Literacy Skills!
Research into student learning and retention over time finds that extended periods of non-practice can lead to deterioration in student skills (RAND Corporation, 2011). Daily math and literacy skill practice can help prevent the "summer skill slide" and ensure that children are adequately prepared for the next school year. During the summer, Catasauqua Area School District encourages students in grades K-8 to build their skills by logging into their online math and literacy programs 5 times per week and engaging with both math (15 minutes per day) and literacy (15 minutes per day) online learning activities.
